Whimsical Horizons: A Series of Dreamscapes
Drawings, installation | H47 | Leeuwarden | 2025
Imagine the distant hum of a smoky factory in an outskirts of Zaandam- vibrant flora weaves through cracked concrete, bringing life to forgotten structures. Strange, luminous creatures with otherworldly forms roam freely making strange sounds Grahhh…Rrrr…Snarl… Their glow casting an ethereal light over the dys/u-topian landscape, emphasizing its singularity while the underground sucking forces are taking the only clock in the entire composition. In the middle of the night, the nameless man quietly slipped out the back door of his tower, holding breath for a full 4 minutes and 41 seconds to keep a low, unsuspecting profile. As the wind wailed and the trees bent extremely to the right side, he disappeared into the night, leaving behind a long, dotted snake. The mysterious-looking lady with red eyelids looks calmly at the tiny teapot made for the smallest cup of tea- it is quite unclear what is she thinking. Then the blue arrow jumps down the stairs, heading toward point X, unaware being watched by the mouse-looking-character. And yet, as you want to get out through the provided ladder, just as you are at the very top, it breaks in half, causing horrible injuries of arms and legs.
