My uncle, a passionate angler, once told me, “It’s all about the bait and a strong fishing line.” Yet, I found myself wondering, what use are those without the proper hook?
Drawing from my uncle’s expertise and my own artistic sensibilities, I set out to create an installation that would captivate the audience through a dynamic interplay of diverse media, scale, and vivid colors- all carefully chosen to function as an irresistible lure, a bait. A single line stretched across the room, subtly disrupting the audience’s physical experience as they navigated the space. As people moved through, many became entangled, caught in its path much like an unsuspecting trout trapped in a fishing net.
